The paradigm shift in organizing and controlling manufacturing processes has spread across all industry sectors. It has developed into what today is commonly described as Lean. Lean is a systematic approach to identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities, and is focused on customer demand and customer value. Applications of Lean go beyond the traditional manufacturing floor to include the entire enterprise, including engineering, R&D and other office and administrative areas.

Introduction to Lean Concepts is an interactive, multimedia, eLearning training program. It is intended for managers, operators, technicians, engineers, and trainers who work in, or are transitioning to, a Lean production environment.

Participants successfully completing the program will be able to:

  • Describe the advantages of going Lean.
  • List and define the 9 kinds of waste, and recognize examples of each type.
  • Compare the attitudes and metrics of Lean with those of traditional organizations, and identify some of the obstacles to transformation.
  • Describe Lean as a total system.
  • Recognize that the value stream must be mapped across this system.
  • Recognize the obstacles you must overcome to become a truly Lean organization.

Qualification and Certification Testing

LearnTech® certification training incorporates interactive learning checks throughout the instructional sequences. Certification tests are criterion-referenced and module-based with feedback on every response for enhanced learning. Administrative access to dates and scores of tests, certifications, and re-certifications is compliant with ISO quality-standards training requirements.
