1. New Safety Course: Lockout/Tagout
This Lockout/Tagout course is an interactive, multimedia, eLearning, health and safety training program. It is intended for those working in a lab or production environment that require an understanding of the Lockout/Tagout procedures used in a hazardous energy control program. More information at: www.automatedlearning.com/products/Lockout_Tagout_Training.cfm
2. New Courses in Lean Practices: QCO, Lean Tools, and TPM
- Quick Changeover, often referred to as SMED or Setup Reduction, is a fundamental concept in Lean production. SMED stands for Single Minute Exchange of Die, and is synonymous with Quick Changeover.
- In Lean terms, time spent in setting up equipment for production does not add value, is considered waste, and waste must be reduced or eliminated.
- SMED setup reduction methods aim to reduce production changeover to the shortest possible time. More information at: www.automatedlearning.com/products/Quick_Changeover_SMED_Training.cfm
- One of the biggest challenges in Lean is sustaining improvements. This requires a high level of “buy-in” at all levels. But how can we expect individuals to engage fully where they do not really understand the bigger picture?
- Through an introduction to various Lean tools, participants build a basic understanding of this larger view and are guided to recognize the interactive value of these tools. Then, when they focus on a specific practice they can visualize how any given tool is not a panacea, but rather a critical piece of a larger solution.
- You can pre-order this program now. Release is targeted for fall 2009.
- Total Productive Maintenance is a systematic proactive approach that includes periodic, predictive and corrective maintenance, and has a goal of identifying and eliminating waste or loss associated with production equipment. TPM is integral to the Lean Production system, and is part of the foundation of operational stability that makes Lean possible.
- You can pre-order this program now. Release is targeted for Q4, 2009.
