NEW: ESD Training videos for operator, engineer/technician, and field service training.
ALC is frequently asked for video training created to the same high standard as our on-line courses. We therefore added video alternatives for our ESD training. These videos, specifically targeted to operators, engineers, technicians, and field service personnel, complement our popular on-line courses.
Note that we did not just create a video. Instead we created a suite so that you can provide the appropriate material to each group and you can administer tests and a practical knowledge check using the same guide sheet that accompanies the on-line courses.
In addition, we added an instructor guide and resource disk packed with bonus content.
These videos are:
- Excellent basic-level ESD training courses
- Convenient as small group learning resources
- Ideal for instructor-led group presentation
- Easy to use
- Designed for audience participation

Classroom instruction, on-line training–or both?
Well-organized classroom training with top quality video resources and top quality self-paced on-line learning have both been proven to deliver results. Which is "best"?
Most experts agree that the method should suit the circumstances. The circumstances include department and corporate goals, budget, learning styles, physical logistics, timelines, availability of human and computer resources, as a few common considerations. Which is really "best" for everyone? Neither. Which is really "best" if you have full choice? Having the flexibility that comes with choice is often "best", so we might answer: "both".
Our new videos are unique in that they are fully matched to the on-line courses. This means that you truly have an opportunity to offer whichever solution best suits a given population within your organization, knowing that the basic training is completely matched. The very same resources are deliverable on DVD for classroom use or on-line for individual use. Match the method to the needs of the moment that best suit your organization, the target group, and the individuals involved. Use the DVD to guide your classroom curriculum. Let the DVD complement, supplement, or replace on-line learning for some or all of your workforce.
Please note one very fundamental difference that is unavoidable: video cannot automate the administrative portion for you. Where that function and additional time savings are important, you will need to utilize the on-line option.

6. Are you ready for the "Perfect Storm"? Attend workshop (with early-bird discount) or choose on-line training.
- The "Perfect Storm" Workshop is back. Travel to MA for CDM + Class 0 = "The Perfect ESD Storm" July 25 and 26th.
Are you skeptical about this news of a Class 0 trend? Is it really happening? Is it likely to be a problem in your factory? How big a problem is CDM in manufacturing? What is different about CDM controls? How do I tailor S20.20 for CDM and Class 0?
New this year: Challenging class exercises have been added which help students understand ESD induction and the proper use of ESD auditing test equipment. The second issue of S20.20 will be reviewed and you will learn how to tailor it for "The Perfect Storm". Technological advances since last year’s workshop will also be presented.
- Action Plan:
- Pre-study the theory through the LearnTech ® Class 0 on-line course.
- Email or call ALC for more information on the workshop.
- Note the early bird deadline is the end of June.
- Travel to MA for The Perfect Storm Workshop.
- Educate your workforce back in the plant with Class 0 on-line training.
- Can’t make the workshop? On-line training is there for you.
