Dr. Abell has been involved
in education and training projects including instructional design
and project management as far back as 1975. Following several years
of professional and managerial experience at Athabasca University,
he completed subsequent projects for clients including the Canadian
Department of National Defense, AGT (now Telus), Edmonton Telephones,
the Commonwealth of Learning, Alberta Education, Alberta Transportation,
and the Edmonton Space Sciences Centre. Dr. Abell has also provided services to organizations such as Canada School of Public Service, National Research Council and Canadian Commercial Corporation.
Dr. Abell was the key architect in the development and preparation of the LearnTech® product family which has been used by over 250 companies around the world, including Alcatel-Lucent, Texas Instruments, Hewlett Packard, BAE, DRS, Curtiss Wright, Northrop Grummon, The Mayo Clinic, Tyco Healthcare, the U.S. Coast Guard, Sandia National Laboratories, and NavCan.
Dr. Abell has a Ph.D. in education from the University
of Alberta (with a specialization in computer applications), a B.Ed.
from the University of New Brunswick, and a B.Sc. from Acadia University. |
Evelyn Abell

Evelyn specializes in
human communications. With a background of over 13 years of classroom
experience in English, ESL, computing science, and business education,
she has managed the sales and marketing activities since 1984. Concurrently,
Evelyn has been extensively involved in course-materials design
and editing, consulting, and many aspects of course production for
a variety of audiences. Her involvement in distance education and
courseware production dates back to 1981.
Evelyn has a B. Ed. from the University of Alberta,
and has also completed most of the requirements for a BA.

Howard Sommerfeld Director

Howard brings
an extensive background in electronics manufacturing that includes
over twenty years experience in training management with major telecom
equipment manufacturers including Nortel, Newbridge Networks, and
Alcatel. He has been responsible for development of major classroom,
computer-based, web-based, and distance e-Learning initiatives,
and has a depth of understanding of manufacturing and training management
issues. His experience includes electronics manufacturing skills
training in both wafer fabrication and circuit card assembly, as
well as team skills, continuous improvement, and sales and marketing
training. Howard was a part of the Newbridge-Learnsoft team that
developed the initial computer based training courses that became
the basis of the ALC LearnTech® Electronic Manufacturing Suite.
He is keenly interested in trainer training, blended learning approaches
that ensure learning transfer from training to workplace performance,
and in demonstrating return on investment for training. Howard has
an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Carleton University,
a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University, and
holds several Coaching and Instructional certificates. |
Kendrick Abell Senior

Since 1995,
Kendrick has been the driving force behind several CBT/e-learning
initiatives for companies such as Newbridge Networks,
Learnsoft, and Automated Learning Corporation. As the architect and programming manager behind several
successful programs, he has considerable knowledge of the tools
and methodologies used in the creation of interactive learning content
and learning engine and database design. Driven to create ground-breaking
programs that excite and engage learners, he is not only a software
engineer fluent in multiple programming languages but a multimedia
specialist who enjoys working with audio, graphics, and 3D models.
Kendrick has also provided services to organizations such as Canadian Wood Council, American Wood Council, Canada School of Public Service, Applied Materials, and Canadian Commercial Corporation. Kendrick has a BSc. in Integrated Science with a specialization in computer science. |
Christine Feldman Multimedia
Design |

Christine
manages web authoring as well as providing design services. Christine
has a BA in Linguistics with a focus on cognition and adult-learning
practices. She has been involved in the design and scripting of
e-learning courseware since 2000. She also has extensive experience
with web site design and development, multimedia authoring and graphic
design tools. |
Geoff Feldman Graphics |

Geoff Feldman
oversees graphic development activities, demonstrating exceptional
natural talent as a graphic designer. As a student of architectural
and interior design, he worked on complex 2D and 3D drawings relying
heavily on computer aided technologies such as Auto-CAD. His personal
fascination with gaming simulation technology combined with his
extensive experience in e-learning and web development has fueled
his technical mastery of the most important multimedia, authoring,
web and graphic design tools used today. |
