This distance learning Lean SCM Black Belt program aims to provide participants with a practical application of Lean tools and techniques within the supply chain sector, as well as developing the appropriate process improvement, leadership and project management skills to drive the changes that are necessary for a successful Lean transformation. It has been designed to improve global supply chain processes through cost reduction and value-add for participants and their organizations.

By delivering the program through distance education, participants will be able to access it remotely, by conventional means and via the Internet. Access is therefore greatly improved, and the interruption to a participant’s work is minimized. The program brings together material on best practice lean tools and techniques, recognized methodologies and skills, and project management, leadership and change management processes.
Program Structure
The program consists of the following 4 modules and an in-house project:
- Advanced Lean Tools and Practices
- Managing Lean Projects
- Lean Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Effective Leadership and Change Management
A company-based in-house project will form a key element of the program, insuring the integration of the various concepts in the participant’s workplace. The project will require the application of the concepts covered in the program. It will need to result in a measurable benefit to the organization of a minimum $100,000, and will need to be validated by the financial controller or other appropriate company representative.
Who should attend?
The program is aimed at career-minded practitioners who work in either supply chain, manufacturing or related functions such as quality, engineering, finance, and who have responsibility for continuous improvement within their organization. It is also suitable for those who have some experience in Lean or supply chain management, and wish to develop knowledge and skills in these areas. Participants should be in a position to affect organizational change.
